Passionflower
Passionflower is widely used for its anti-anxiety properties. It has been shown to stimulate gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), which is a relaxing neurotransmitter in the brain. It is known to help to relieve stress, tension, nervousness, irritable bowel syndrome and promote sleep. It has also been used to help relieve tension associated with smoking withdrawal, thus easing the transition of smoking cessation. Passionflower is used in Shanti's blends Serenitea and Sweet Dreams.
